Visa Gift cards traceable?

If someone bought me a Visa gift card can they see what I buy with it? Will it notify them when I do use it or what?

    Buy whatever you want, they wont track.

    Technically speaking, that person could record the numbers, report it stolen and ask for the last transactions. I don't think anyone would do that though.
